about
I have worked most of my adult life with people living in deep poverty, who are often involved in substance use. The first line of this song rang like a bell in my head, it resonated something deeply truthful to me, 'she was looking for trouble, 'cuz trouble was all that she knew'...if we only know trouble then trouble is what we will always find.
We all need friendship, guidance and some good news from time-to-time to keep us out of harms way..
I wrote this song while riding my bike across the lakeshore of Toronto...I raced home so I could get it down on paper.
lyrics
Lookin' For Trouble (Robinson c. 2005)
She was looking for trouble, 'cuz trouble was all that she knew
She was looking for trouble and a situation or two
He was a lone star, shinin' like the fourth of July
Wouldn't stop at anything, not a word or a lie
They'll need some good news
They'll need some good news
They'll need some good news
To chase away these troublin' blues, troubling' blues, troublin' blues
The street were dirty, they shone look never before
With heels a clickin', as she stumbled through the from door
She was a beauty, perfect in every way
No chance of surviving, not even if heaven bent her way
She'll need some good news
She'll need some good news
She'll need some good news
To chase away these troublin' blues, troubling' blues, troublin' blues
Troublin' blues
Flying like an eagle, thinkin' he would never come down
Not really known', he was already half way underground
Mama's cryin', her babies were no more
Now she knew the answer, as she loaded her last score
She'll need some good news
She'll need some good news
She'll need some good news
To chase away these troublin' blues, troubling' blues, troublin' blues
Troublin' blues

The musicians that accompany her are all amazing. Beautiful harmonies, poignant solos and driving rhythms embody the stories captured in these recordings. Aptly titled Lost Years, it explores deep loss and redemption....more
